z-weave 4.6 is here with meaningful upgrades to your design workflow.

From long-requested inch unit support to a smarter avatar system, this patch focuses on giving you finer control at every stage of the design process.

✨NEW FEATURES

🧍 IK Avatar (Beta)

  • Introducing Inverse Kinematics (IK) avatar control — now in beta.
  • Instead of rotating individual joints one by one, you can move points (like a hand or foot) and let the system calculate natural joint positions automatically. It's a faster, more intuitive way to pose your avatar and preview how garments drape in motion

📏Inch Unit support with decimal places

  • Starting with 4.5, you can now work entirely in inches and with decimal places, so values like 2.75" or 0.5" are entered exactly as-is, no conversion needed. More precise measurements now supported with decimal inch values

Pattern alignment in 2D view

  • You can now align multiple selected patterns directly in the 2D view - left, right, center, top, bottom. With just one click, you can precisely position patterns exactly where you want them while keeping your workspace tidy.

⚡ IMPROVEMENTS

🧵SPI for the stitch

Stitch density can now be controlled with SPI (Stitches Per Inch), giving you more precise and realistic stitch representation across your garments.

📂Import DXF dialog option

The DXF import dialog now includes additional options, making it easier to control how files are brought in and reducing the need for manual adjustments after import.

🔺Innerline in 3D view

Innerline rendering in 3D view has been improved — and now when you set a fold angle, the color syncs automatically to match your innerline highlight color.

🪡Seam

Seam behavior is now more stable and predictable, with deform support for reset pattern and a new sewing angle hold strength option for finer simulation control.

🧶Substance (SBSAR) update

This version is compatible with the upcoming Designer 16.x and Painter 12.x main builds, and includes all the minimum requirements needed to support SBSAR files authored with the OpenPBR material model.
